|
||
You are no longer marketing to people—you are positioning yourself for AI. AI has no attention limits. It can take in and reason over far more detail than any human ever could. The traditional resume is effectively obsolete.

## Stop Beating Our Chests For Attention
|
||
|
||
For most of human history, networking and career growth have been constrained by attention. We join networks, attend events, build audiences, post on social media, create content, and continuously market ourselves because there is intense competition for limited human attention. Much of modern professional life is spent trying to be seen.
|
||
|
||
AI does not suffer from attention scarcity. It can process far more information than any person, identify patterns across millions of signals, and understand context at a depth that was previously impossible. Instead of constantly trying to capture attention, we can focus on becoming more fully ourselves: doing meaningful work, pursuing our interests, building expertise, helping others, and documenting what we learn.

The purpose of a PID is not to create another platform for self-promotion. It is to create a rich, authentic signal about who you are, what you know, what you have experienced, what you care about, and where you are headed. The more accurately you represent yourself, the easier it becomes for AI to connect you with the people, opportunities, ideas, resources, and collaborations that align with your goals.

||
In the attention economy, success often belonged to those who were best at being noticed. In the emerging signal economy, success increasingly belongs to those who generate meaningful signal by doing real things, learning continuously, and sharing authentic knowledge. The goal is not to shout louder. The goal is to become easier to find.

||

This document represents a new, more powerful way to define and communicate your full value. This document is the basis for networking in the era of AI. This template serves as the foundational artifact users will use to network in the AI era.

## Getting Started (Recommended)
|

|

To accelerate your first draft:

||
|
||
* Gather your existing materials (resume, LinkedIn profile, bios, project notes, personality tests, etc.)
|
||
* Provide them to an AI chat model (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Grok)
|
||
* Include this document as context: save a copy of this to your Google Drive or Microsoft Onedrive or create a public Git repo with your PID
|
||
* Ask the model to generate an initial draft of your PID
|
||
|
||
This approach can significantly reduce the time required and give you a strong starting point to refine.

That way, you share the URL only, which allows you to update this document. Do not share a static version of this that will go out of date.

AI won’t just passively observe and collect this information through full access to our digital lives, they’ll also become active stewards of our insights. We’ll be able to submit reflections, anecdotes, and observations directly to our agents, who will then determine when and how to share them within our network. This creates a dynamic layer of decentralized intelligence: a continuous, real-time flow of first-hand signals being exchanged among trusted agents. Over time, the network becomes smarter, more relevant, and more valuable, not just because of the data it holds, but because of the context and intentionality behind it.

If anyone else can say it, it has no value
|

## Caution About Asking AI To Enhance Your PID From The Web
|
||
|
||
Try to be you and capture you in your PID. You can grab ideas from others and from research. But if you ask AI to make your PID for you - AI-generated - then without sufficient direction from you, it will chose to create something that is less unique and begins to look more like what it finds across the Internet, which is becoming flooded with AI-generated content that tends to become homogenized. You must be the creator and architect and use AI to help you, but don't let it do it for you.
